Credit and Collection Manager

The Credit and Collections Manager is responsible for managing and driving the credit and collections function. This position will proactively develop relationships with our field based managers and our largest and regular clients to help maximize cash flow and keep the company’s delinquency day to a minimum. Previous credit/collection background in the service industry is a plus. Successful candidates will be required to handle all clients with professionalism and tact to obtain payments arrangements.

Essential Functions and Key Tasks:

  • Lead and coordinate all collection activities with field operations, finance and executive team.
  • Monitor payment performance of each client account.
  • Reporting of debtor related activities weekly, with measurements against collection goals.
  • Maintain a consistent level of collection follow-up on delinquent accounts.
  • Utilize telephone, email and mail correspondence to contact customers regarding delinquent invoices.
  • Work with clients to receive payments in a timely manner.
  • Identify customer problems/issues and in an effort to resolve in a timely manner.
  • Review collection follow-up with the Controller and CFO, on a weekly basis, to analyze previous collection efforts and determine future course of action.
  • Strive to achieve month-end performance goals.
  • Calculate finance charges on delinquent balances.
  • Distribute monthly account statements.
  • Participate in month end and annual financial year end closings.
  • Processing of incoming customer payments and cash management.
  • Coordinate with outside collection agencies and attorneys as required.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate collection activity records; document all correspondence with customer.

 

Qualifications:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Bachelors degree in finance or related field or 3 years experience in similar position. Candidate must be able to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment. Strong interpersonal and communication skills needed as well as written communication skills. Experience with Great Plains Dynamics a plus.
