Registered Dietitian

The dietitian is responsible for management of the clinical program, including nutritional assessment, care planning and mentoring of patients/residents nutritional needs. The dietitian acts as a liaison between the clerical team and dining services as well as with family and visitors.

The Dietitian ensures that nutritional requirements are incorporated into dining services production and operations. Registered Dietitians are charged with training and directing all diet office, tray-line and clinical Team Members towards achieving the two primary goals above through consistently high performance levels that meet and exceed resident and client expectations.

The dietitian serves as a resource for quality improvement and regulatory compliance through routine audits, education and written action plans.

Essential Functions and Key Tasks:

  • Evaluates resident nutritional needs and establishes dietary program
  • Monitors resident status and takes appropriate actions
  • Works collaboratively with dining services department
  • Creates and maintains documentation
  • Maintains client relationships
  • Updates and applies professional knowledge
  • Sets and communicate objectives, communicate and reinforce high standards in all areas, monitor performance and addresses issues.

 

Qualifications:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition/Dietetics, successful completion of Dietetic Internship or equivalent. Member of the American Dietetic Association. Two year clinical experience preferred.
